Iran has officially hanged a man accused of spying for Israel’s intelligence agency Mossad. The man, identified as Esmail Fekri, was executed after being found guilty of sharing sensitive information.
This comes just days after Iran arrested nine more people on similar spying charges. Tensions between Iran and Israel are at a dangerous peak, with both countries launching missile strikes against each other for three days straight.
Iran’s missile attacks on Israel have reportedly killed at least 20 Israeli civilians. In return, Israel’s counterstrikes have caused massive destruction in Iran. Iran’s Health Ministry claims that 224 people were killed and over 1,277 injured in the Israeli attacks. However, a U.S.-based human rights group said the death toll in Iran may be even higher—around 406 lives lost.
Meanwhile, Israel’s Defense Minister, Yoav Gallant, issued a stern warning to Iran. According to The Times of Israel, he said, “The people of Tehran will have to pay the price for this.”
