IU recently gave an interview about her drama When Life Gives You Tangerines on April 2. The interview was held at the Ambassador Seoul Pullman Hotel and was conducted by K-media outlet Edaily Star. She talked about her favorite character from the show, her co-stars, and even answered some personal questions about marriage and her boyfriend, Lee Jong Suk.
Since IU and Lee Jong Suk are a well-known couple, reporters were curious about his reaction to her drama. However, IU laughed and shared that he might not have watched it yet because he has been very busy. She said, “He’s really busy, so I don’t think he’s had a chance to watch it yet,” adding, “That’s what I assume anyway.”
She then shifted the focus back to her drama, speaking about her on-screen partner, Yang Gwan Sik, played by Park Bo Gum. She jokingly said, “Today marks the end of my promo schedule for When Life Gives You Tangerines, so right now, I only know Yang Gwan Sik.” To avoid further questions about her dating life, she playfully added, “Maybe tomorrow I’ll be able to talk about my boyfriend again.” Her lighthearted response made both fans and reporters smile.
IU and Lee Jong Suk have been dating publicly since December 2022 and are still going strong. Fans love their relationship but also enjoyed IU’s on-screen chemistry with Park Bo Gum. In the drama, their characters supported each other through many challenges, making fans imagine an ideal marriage. Even IU admitted in the interview that she would consider getting married if she found a “husband like Gwan Sik.”
