Jalin Turner suffered a tough loss against Ignacio Bahamondes at UFC 313, held at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. The fight was intense, but Turner was submitted in the first round after getting caught in a triangle choke.

The fight started evenly, with Turner gaining an early advantage by ending up on top of Bahamondes. However, Bahamondes quickly turned the tables. He landed strong elbow strikes on Turner’s head before locking him in a tight triangle choke. Turner tried to escape but was forced to tap out at 2:29 of the opening round.

A Disappointing Result for Turner

The defeat was a big disappointment for Turner, who is considered one of the top fighters in the UFC. Losing in such a manner was especially tough for him.

Turner’s Journey into MMA

Speaking to the Hindustan Times, Turner shared how he got into MMA. He started training during high school while trying out for the wrestling team but broke his finger. After that, he began watching MMA and practicing with his friends in backyard sparring and boxing. He also trained himself by watching instructional videos on YouTube.

Injuries and Challenges

Turner faced many injuries while growing up, mostly from skateboarding. However, in his MMA career, he was lucky to avoid major injuries, needing only two surgeries. He mentioned that fighters never go into a match at 100%, but they must push through and do their best.

Turner’s Retirement

Turner, who was ranked No. 13 in the UFC lightweight division, made an emotional decision to retire after his loss. He left his gloves in the ring as a sign of his retirement. His professional MMA career ends with a record of 14 wins and 9 losses.

Turner’s journey in MMA has inspired many, and his contribution to the sport will always be remembered.
