Japanese Astronaut Takuya Onishi Arrives at the International Space Station

Japanese astronaut Takuya Onishi, 49, along with three other astronauts, has successfully arrived at the International Space Station (ISS). They traveled on SpaceX’s Crew Dragon spacecraft, marking the beginning of their long-term stay in space.

A Warm Welcome Aboard the ISS About 90 minutes after the spacecraft docked, the hatch connecting to the ISS was opened. Onishi was the first to step inside, warmly greeting the ISS crew with hugs and smiles.

Excited to Work on Scientific Research “I returned to the ISS full of energy,” Onishi said in Japanese during a welcome ceremony. “Starting tomorrow, I will work hard on different tasks, including scientific experiments in the Japanese experiment module, Kibo.”

Onishi’s Second Space Mission This is Onishi’s second time in space, with his first mission taking place in 2016. The SpaceX Crew-10 mission was launched from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida on Friday afternoon, U.S. time.

With his experience and dedication, Onishi is expected to contribute significantly to the ISS mission in the coming months.
