Jay-Z and Beyoncé Prove Innocence in Diddy Assault Case

Joseph Manzaro, who accused Sean “Diddy” Combs of sexual assault at a 2015 party, has officially amended his lawsuit, removing Jay-Z and Beyoncé’s names from the case. The updated filing was submitted in Florida on April 11, 2025.

Originally, Manzaro claimed he had been drugged and transported to a party held at the Miami home of music legends Gloria and Emilio Estefan, where Diddy’s son, Christian Combs, was celebrating his birthday. In the initial complaint, Manzaro alleged that Gloria Estefan noticed his deteriorating condition and tried to call for medical help, but was allegedly stopped by Emilio Estefan.

Manzaro’s lawsuit further detailed disturbing events, claiming he was paraded through another party wearing a penis-shaped mask and subjected to humiliating, non-consensual acts in what he described as a “freak-off.”

However, attorneys for Jay-Z and Beyoncé presented solid evidence proving the superstar couple was nowhere near the event. A 2015 report from New York University’s newspaper placed Jay-Z at an event in New York, and additional photos from The Daily Mail showed the pair vacationing in Hawaii around the same time.

Jay-Z’s lawyer, Alex Spiro, addressed the situation in a statement to PEOPLE, saying, “He was engaged in easily verifiable public activities that prove he was not at this event.”

Meanwhile, Combs’ legal team has denied all allegations, dismissing the lawsuit as a “depraved attempt to gain attention and financial gain.” They added, “No sane person reading this complaint could credit this story,” and affirmed that Combs intends to vigorously defend himself in court.
