Jean-Claude Van Damme Denies Sex Trafficking Allegations

Jean-Claude Van Damme’s representative, Patrick Goavec, has strongly denied recent allegations that the actor was involved in sexual activities with five Romanian women who were victims of sex trafficking. These claims stem from a criminal complaint filed against the 64-year-old action star with the Romanian Directorate for Investigating Organized Crime and Terrorism (DIICOT).

The criminal complaint, lodged last week, accuses Van Damme of knowingly engaging with victims trafficked by a criminal network reportedly led by Romanian businessman and modeling agency owner Morel Bolea. The complaint alleges that the women were “presented” to the actor as a “gift” during an event he hosted in Cannes. However, no specific dates or timeline for these alleged events have been provided.

In response, Goavec issued a statement addressing the accusations, calling them “grotesque” and “non-existent.” He added that Van Damme had no intention of commenting on the rumors, which he described as absurd and unfounded.

Van Damme, renowned for his roles in iconic films like Kickboxer, Double Impact, Street Fighter, and The Expendables 2, has become embroiled in the controversy following the filing of multiple criminal charges in Romania. The complaint claims that the women, who were allegedly vulnerable, were trafficked and offered to Van Damme during the Cannes event.

Adrian Cuculis, the lawyer representing one of the alleged victims, stated that the women were in a vulnerable state and suspected of being exploited. He added that the case was part of a larger investigation into human trafficking and the exploitation of minors, which has been ongoing in Romania since 2020 under the supervision of the country’s prosecutor’s office.

As the investigation continues, Van Damme’s legal team has maintained that the allegations are unfounded, and the actor has not yet publicly addressed the claims further.
