Jhapa FC has signed another Uzbekistani player for the third season of the Nepal Super League (NSL).
On Tuesday, Jhapa announced the signing of attacking midfielder Mukhammad Isaev through social media.
He is the third foreign player Jhapa has signed for NSL 3. The club had already signed Uzbekistan’s Azamat Abdullaev and Serbia’s Lazar Arsic.
Jhapa’s marquee player is Laken Limbu, and Prabesh Katuwal has been appointed as the head coach for this season. The club also retained defender Chhiring Lama before the auction.
In the NSL auction, Jhapa signed:
- Category A: Ashish Gurung
- Category B: Avinash Syangtan, Dipesh Dhimal, Anjal Shrestha, Roshan Pahari, Dipendra BK, and Ujwal Rai
- Category C: Srijan Dani, Aaron Thapa, Shyam Murmu, and Abhishek Gurung
- NRNA Quota: PraBin Basnet
Jhapa FC is the only team from Koshi Province in NSL this season. In the first season, Biratnagar City FC represented the province, but it did not play in the second season. That year, Jhapa FC and Sporting Ilam participated. However, Ilam withdrew from NSL 3, leaving Jhapa as the only club from Eastern Nepal in the league.
