Jisoo, the eldest member of BLACKPINK, made waves with the release of her debut solo album ME on March 31, 2025. Around the same time, her bandmates Jennie and Lisa also unveiled their own solo projects. While Jennie and Lisa quickly climbed global charts like Billboard, Jisoo steadily rose through South Korea’s domestic rankings, recently claiming the top spot on the Circle Chart, according to a report by The Korea Herald on April 8.
Despite flying somewhat under the radar internationally, Jisoo’s impact at home has been remarkable. ME has sold over 1.5 million copies, making her the highest-selling female K-pop soloist on the Circle Chart (formerly known as the Gaon Chart). By December 2024, she had already broken the record for the best-selling album by a female soloist. Including her latest EP, AMORTAGE—which added another 462,057 copies—Jisoo’s total solo sales have exceeded 2 million.
This achievement not only places Jisoo ahead of her BLACKPINK bandmates Lisa and Rosé, who have sold 1 million and 1.5 million albums respectively, but also ahead of Korean music icon IU. IU, who debuted in 2008 and remains one of K-pop’s most celebrated soloists, ranks second with around 1.84 million in cumulative album sales.
With just six solo tracks to her name—including the hit singles Flower (2023) and Earthquake from AMORTAGE—Jisoo has claimed the No. 1 spot on Circle Chart. Her consistent success highlights her growing influence as a solo artist.
Beyond her music, Jisoo has also been the most active among her bandmates since BLACKPINK’s departure from YG Entertainment in 2023. She embarked on her own fan meeting tour, The 2025 Fan Edition: Jisoo Asia Tour—Lights, Love, Action!, visiting seven major cities: Manila, Bangkok, Tokyo, Macao, Taipei, Hong Kong, and Hanoi between March 14 and 30. The tour’s success, with packed venues for fan-focused events, further cemented her solo popularity. In comparison, Jennie and Lisa have each completed five solo concerts, while Rosé has yet to embark on a solo tour.
With strong domestic sales, record-breaking achievements, and a successful tour, Jisoo has firmly established herself as a force to be reckoned with in the K-pop industry.
