The teaser for John Abraham’s upcoming movie, The Diplomat, is out! On Friday, the makers dropped a one-minute teaser, where John plays the role of a real-life Indian diplomat. The film, directed by Shivam Nair and written by Ritesh Shah, is based on a true story that had a huge impact on the nation.
In the teaser, we see John’s character talking to a distressed Muslim woman. She tells him that she is an Indian citizen, but before she can explain further, he offers her water and warns, “Don’t try to hide anything or it might get difficult for you.”
The teaser hints that the case John’s character is handling is a high-risk one, and the answers are not easy to find. We get a glimpse of lots of drama and action, with John looking sharp in a suit and sporting a moustache. His character says that in this job, he has to stay “dhai kadam” (two and a half steps) ahead of everyone.
The film is produced by T-Series, Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, John Abraham’s JA Entertainment, Vipul D Shah, Ashwin Varde, Rajesh Bahl of Wakaoo Films, Sameer Dixit and Jatish Varma of Fortune Pictures, and Rakesh Dang of Seeta Films.
Fans are already reacting to the teaser, with one commenting, “I love John in these kinds of roles,” and another saying, “John looks great here, not just because of his looks, but because he’s perfect for the Diplomatic Officer role.” Another fan added, “This looks exciting. John picks good scripts.”
The Diplomat is set to release in theaters on March 7.
