Jr NTR’s much-anticipated collaboration with director Prashanth Neel is set to become one of the biggest projects in Telugu cinema. On Wednesday, the film’s team provided an exciting update: Jr NTR will soon begin shooting for the movie. Here’s everything we know so far.
The actor is scheduled to kick off the filming of his project with Prashanth Neel later this month, starting April 22. This announcement came through the official X (formerly Twitter) account of the film, which posted, “NTR Neel is entering its most explosive phase. Man of Masses @Tarak9999 steps into the destructive soil from April 22nd.” The post was accompanied by a thrilling new poster.
Fans erupted with excitement upon hearing the news. Some expressed their anticipation by claiming the film would “redefine action cinema” and “set new benchmarks in the global film industry.” Others eagerly anticipated the movie’s potential, with one fan saying, “Blockbuster loading, super excited!” However, not all fans were satisfied with the announcement, with some hoping for more information beyond just the shoot start date.
The film, currently untitled, officially went on floors in February this year, with Prashanth Neel directing an intense scene featuring several extras. Jr NTR also shared a picture from the first day of shooting on his Instagram stories. The image featured Prashanth standing atop a vehicle, with extras positioned behind a police barricade. The scene depicted a chaotic environment, including a damaged Ambassador car and discarded bicycles, with a fire in the background.
Originally announced in 2022 on Jr NTR’s birthday, the film faced multiple delays before finally beginning production in 2025. While the release date has not been confirmed, it’s expected to hit theaters in 2026. Initially, the team had aimed for a release on January 9, 2026, but it remains uncertain whether that will be possible. Further details regarding the cast and crew are still awaited.
In addition to this, Jr NTR will make his Bollywood debut with War 2, directed by Ayan Mukherji, where he stars alongside Hrithik Roshan.
