The number of arrests in connection with the gang fight near LRI School, Kalanki, has now reached 16.

After receiving information about the incident, a police team from Kalimati Police Circle, Kathmandu District Police, and the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office arrested 16 people from different locations.

According to SP and spokesperson Apil Raj Bohora, the Kathmandu District Court has granted police five days to investigate those arrested on charges of homicide.

The gang fight occurred on Monday evening around 7:30 PM. One of the injured, Abhaya Gole, was taken to Sahid Memorial Hospital in Kalanki, where doctors declared him dead at 8 PM.

Police stated that the fight started over a dispute between two groups regarding an incident on Holi. During the clash, 21-year-old Rohit Khadka, Binaya Lama, and Parbit Shrestha attacked with rods, khukuris, and punches.

Three others injured in the fight -23-year-old Sandip Bhujel from Nagdhunga, 22-year-old Pawan Tamang (alias Chakre) from Naikap, and 22-year-old Pasang Sherpa from Chandragiri-14—are currently receiving treatment, SP Bohora informed.
