The film Kannappa, a mythological drama produced by actor Vishnu Manchu, was released in theatres on June 27. The movie stars Vishnu Manchu along with big names like Akshay Kumar, Prabhas, Mohanlal, and Kajal Aggarwal. The film has received a lot of praise for its powerful story and stunning visuals.
According to a report by media, Kannappa might be released on Amazon Prime Video on July 25. If this is true, the movie will be available for online streaming less than a month after it was released in theatres. This is different from what Vishnu Manchu had said earlier.
Vishnu Manchu had promised a longer theatrical run
At a pre-release event, Vishnu Manchu said clearly that Kannappa would not be released on any streaming platform right away. He mentioned that the OTT rights had not been sold yet and that he wanted the movie to have a long run in theatres. He had said, “My movie will not come to OTT before 10 weeks. That is the deal I have. I just want to show the best to the audience.”
Multi-language release
The film has been released in five languages — Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi. It is produced by Twenty-Four Frames Factory and AVA Entertainment.
Story Overview
Kannappa tells the story of Thinnadu, a wild and fearless tribal hunter who does not believe in gods. One day, he finds a Shiva Lingam in the forest, which changes his life completely. Vishnu Manchu plays the lead role as the hunter who later becomes a true devotee of Lord Shiva, known as Bhaktha Kannappa.
Akshay Kumar plays the role of Lord Shiva, Prabhas appears as Rudra, and Mohanlal gives a powerful performance as Kirata. The movie has beautiful visuals, emotional depth, and is based on themes of faith and devotion.
