Kapilvastu 11 emerged victorious in the first edition of the Sunagabha Sainamaina Gold Cup. In the final match held at Sainamaina Stadium, they defeated Abhishek Church Nawalpur by a narrow margin of 1-0 to lift the title.
Decisive Goal Secures Victory
The first half of the match ended goalless, with both teams playing cautiously. However, the game intensified in the second half, with players displaying greater attacking intent. In the 55th minute, Kapilvastu 11’s foreign player, Mohammad ,capitalized on an opportunity inside the box and scored the decisive goal. This single goal was enough to secure the victory for Kapilvastu 11.
Tournament Overview
The tournament, organized by Murgiya Football Club, lasted for ten days and featured ten teams, including two departmental teams from Nepal and one team from India.
Prizes and Recognition
As the champions, Kapilvastu 11 received NPR 7 lakh, along with a trophy, medals, and certificates. The runner-up, Abhishek Church Nawalpur, was awarded NPR 4 lakh for their strong performance.
