Tara Thapa and Suman Khadka’s Karnali team won the National Youth-Friendly Lok Dohori Competition. The competition was organized jointly by the National Youth Council and the Arts and Literature Youth Network affiliated with the council. Tara and Suman’s team became the winners and received a cash prize of 100,000 rupees.
The competition was held in Kathmandu for two days. The Janakpur team, consisting of Pritam Pokhrel and Sabita Pariyar, secured second place and won a cash prize of 30,000 rupees. Similarly, the Narayani team (Ghanshyam Pariyar and Jamuna Bishwakarma) and the Rapti team (Prakash Dura and Asha KC) finished in third place.
Youth and Sports Minister Tejulal Chaudhary awarded the winners. He said that organizing Lok Dohori competitions focusing on youth awareness and empowerment helps preserve art and culture while encouraging young people to contribute to their country.
The Executive Vice President of the council, Surendra Basnet, stated that the competition was organized to give hope and encouragement to Nepali youth within the country through Lok Dohori.
A total of 12 teams, selected from across the country, participated in the national competition.
