Due to the halt in public transportation caused by transport operators, Nepal Police has started operating two free buses in Kathmandu to assist the general public.

🚫 No Public Transport on the Roads
Due to the protest by transport operators, no long or short-distance public vehicles are operating in the Kathmandu Valley. Only Sajha buses, private motorcycles, cars, and a few taxis are seen on the roads.
According to Traffic Police Office Spokesperson Deepak Giri, no buses, microbuses, or tempos are operating. Since black-plate vehicles (commercial public transport) are not running as per the protest plan, even the usually busy streets of Kathmandu have appeared deserted since early morning.
🚶 What Are People Doing?
Many people are seen waiting at bus stops hoping for vehicles. Some are using ride-sharing services like Pathao and InDrive, while others are walking to their destinations.
🚨 Why the Protest?
Transport entrepreneurs have stopped public transportation across Nepal on Monday in protest against Gandaki Province’s ride-sharing regulation, which they claim is unconstitutional. They have put forward 7 demands to the government.
