Kathmandu Rayzrs claimed their first victory in the 2025 Nepal Super League (NSL) with a hard-fought 1-0 win over ten-man Butwal Lumbini FC at Dashrath Stadium in Tripureshwar on Tuesday. The match was decided by Amadou Diop’s goal in the 89th minute.

Kathmandu Rayzrs’ First Victory in the League
Despite creating several chances throughout the match, Kathmandu Rayzrs had to wait until the final moments to find the back of the net. Diop’s late strike helped them secure their first win after two draws and one loss. With this victory, Kathmandu climbed to third place in the standings with 5 points from four games.
Butwal Lumbini FC’s Challenges
Butwal Lumbini FC, who were reduced to ten men in the 71st minute when defender Suman Shrestha received a red card, struggled to maintain their defense. Even though they faced constant pressure, Butwal’s goalkeeper, Deep Karki, was in excellent form, preventing multiple scoring opportunities for Kathmandu. However, the late goal sealed the win for the Rayzrs.
A Difficult Start for Butwal Lumbini FC
This defeat marks Butwal Lumbini FC’s third loss in the tournament, leaving them at the bottom of the standings with just 1 point from four matches. Their chances of reaching the playoffs have now become slim, as they remain in last place after four games.
