Actor Kayadu Lohar, who rose to prominence following her role in Ashwath Marimuthu’s film Dragon alongside Pradeep Ranganathan, is reportedly under investigation by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with the ongoing TASMAC scam case in Tamil Nadu.
According to a MidDay report, Kayadu has come under scrutiny after individuals implicated in the TASMAC scandal, apprehended during ED raids, allegedly named her as linked to the illegal activities. Sources reveal that she reportedly charged ₹35 lakh to attend exclusive ‘night parties’ associated with the case.
For those unfamiliar, the TASMAC scam involves allegations of financial irregularities and corruption linked to Tamil Nadu’s state-controlled liquor distribution entity, TASMAC (Tamil Nadu State Marketing Corporation). The case recently caught the Supreme Court’s attention, with the bench criticizing the ED for overstepping its jurisdiction and infringing upon federal governance principles. Despite this, the court has temporarily halted the money laundering investigation related to TASMAC, while law authorities have argued that the probe is justified, given the alleged corruption involves over ₹1000 crore.
Kayadu Lohar has not yet made any public statements regarding her alleged connection to the scam.
