Kevin Hart is making a comeback to the BET Awards stage as host for the 2025 ceremony, marking nearly 15 years since he last led the show in 2011. The event, which will celebrate the 25th anniversary of the iconic awards, is scheduled to stream live on June 9 from the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles.
The celebrated comedian and actor, known for his high-energy humor and wide-ranging appeal, has been a significant figure in entertainment over the past decade. Hart, an Emmy-nominated talent for his work on Die Hart and The Roast of Tom Brady, has also received BET nominations for fan-favorite shows like Comic View: One Night Stand and Real Husbands of Hollywood.
BET’s president expressed enthusiasm about Hart’s return, calling him an essential part of the BET family. In a statement, the network praised his “unparalleled talent, infectious energy, and deep connection to our audience,” noting that he is the perfect choice to host this milestone event.
Hart, too, shared his excitement about the occasion. “I love a celebration!” he said in an official statement. “It’s a chance to reflect, cherish, and honor life’s unforgettable moments. I’m truly honored to host the 25th BET Awards and celebrate the culture’s biggest night. It’s a Black-Tie affair, and you’re all invited.”
Since its inception in 2001, the BET Awards have honored outstanding Black talent in music, film, sports, and beyond. Over the years, the event has featured a powerhouse roster of hosts, including Taraji P. Henson, Regina Hall, Leslie Jones, Tracee Ellis Ross, Chris Rock, Samuel L. Jackson, Queen Latifah, and Jamie Foxx.
With Kevin Hart at the helm, this year’s ceremony promises to be a memorable tribute to 25 years of Black excellence in entertainment.
