Khukuri Attack Killed a Man in Taplejung

In Taplejung, a shocking incident unfolded when 28-year-old Tejendra Limbu was fatally stabbed. The attack happened near Sisne in Fuktanglung rural municipality. The suspect, Arjun Gurung from Phungling municipality-6, fled the scene and is still missing.

Tejendra had gone to visit his aunt Yogmaya Limbu’s house with his wife Sarita Limbu. There, a heated argument broke out between Arjun Gurung and his wife, which escalated quickly. After being asked by the aunt to return home, the group started to leave.

Near Sisne Khola, Arjun suddenly attacked Tejendra with a khukuri (traditional knife), stabbing him in the left abdomen. Tejendra died on the spot due to the serious injury. Local police, including ward chairperson Aitaram Limbu and assistant inspector Bimal Kumar Shrestha, arrived quickly but found Tejendra already dead.

The police have launched a search operation to find Arjun Gurung. A team led by Inspector Bibek Basnet has been sent from Phungling to investigate further. This tragic event has left the local community in shock and raised concerns about safety in the area.
