On March 17, the family of the late actress Kim Sae Ron filed a defamation lawsuit against YouTuber Lee Jin Ho. They accused him of spreading false information about her. They also filed a stalking complaint, saying he used private sources to gather and share personal details about Kim Sae Ron online to harm her reputation. The trial took place, and on March 31, the court ruled against Lee Jin Ho, according to CBS No Cut News.
Young Chan, the director of the Korea Entertainment Suicide Prevention Association, who has been in contact with Kim Sae Ron‘s family since the dating controversy with actor Kim Soo Hyun, shared the news. He told CBS No Cut News that the court recognized Lee Jin Ho’s stalking actions and issued an order to stop him from posting content about Kim Sae Ron and her family for three months.
Young Chan also mentioned that the family plans to file another defamation lawsuit against Lee Jin Ho based on false information he shared in his recent videos. If they move forward with this, it would be their second defamation lawsuit against him. The first one was filed last month after Lee Jin Ho publicly denied Kim Sae Ron’s relationship with Kim Soo Hyun, which caused a lot of hate online and may have contributed to her tragic death.
The police said they received the complaint on March 20 and will investigate, including questioning the people involved. The family might file another lawsuit since Lee Jin Ho continued to make false claims about Kim Sae Ron’s life, including rumors about her marriage, claims of domestic abuse, and accusations that her family neglected her and didn’t pay her hospital bills. The family hopes that by filing another lawsuit, they can stop Lee Jin Ho from spreading more lies about her.
