Actress Kim So Eun has firmly denied ongoing rumors about her alleged romantic involvement with professional soccer player Jung Dong Ho. Speculation about the pair’s relationship has circulated for nearly a year, fueled by sightings of them together and suspicions around their social media activity, dubbed by fans as “lovestagram.”
On April 23, a Korean media outlet reported that the Boys Over Flowers star and the Suwon FC player were in a serious relationship and even considering marriage. However, both Kim So Eun and an acquaintance of hers spoke out to clarify the truth behind the rumors, according to OSEN.
The initial report claimed that Kim So Eun and Jung Dong Ho had traveled overseas together and were planning to tie the knot. Addressing these claims, Kim So Eun responded, “The dating rumors are absolutely not true.” She explained that her overseas trip was work-related, as she was filming an upcoming project, and not connected to any personal relationship.
The article also alleged that former soccer player Heo Beom San had introduced the two. Kim So Eun refuted this, clarifying, “Beom San is a friend I’ve known for 15 years. Heo Beom San, Jung Dong Ho, and I are part of a golf group.”
This golf connection was echoed by a close associate of Kim So Eun, who told OSEN that the actress and Jung Dong Ho were simply acquaintances who had met through mutual friends and shared social activities, especially via their golf club. “Both Kim So Eun and Jung Dong Ho are acquaintances who have met in the same place,” they said, emphasizing there was no romantic involvement.
The associate further explained that repeated sightings of the two together were due to overlapping social circles and participation in group gatherings. “It seems that the overlap of golf club members and acquaintances has led to misunderstandings due to frequent meetings,” they stated.
Addressing rumors that Jung Dong Ho attended Kim So Eun’s birthday party, the associate confirmed his presence but dismissed any romantic implications. “It is true that Jung Dong Ho attended a birthday party with Kim So Eun and her acquaintances. However, the two are not in a romantic relationship; they simply enjoyed the party together due to overlapping acquaintances and gatherings,” they said.
Despite persistent rumors, both Kim So Eun and those close to her continue to assert that there is no romantic relationship between her and Jung Dong Ho—just friendship and shared social activities.
