Actor Kim Soo Hyun and his agency, GOLDMEDALIST, have escalated their legal actions against the YouTube channel Garosero Research Institute, operated by Kim Se Ui. In addition to their ongoing lawsuit seeking 11 billion KRW in damages, which involves both Garosero and the family of the late actress Kim Sae Ron, they have now filed an additional criminal complaint targeting Kim Se Ui. This new filing accuses him of stalking, cyber harassment, and defamation.
On April 2, 2025, LKB & Partners, the law firm representing Kim Soo Hyun and GOLDMEDALIST, officially confirmed the new criminal complaint. The legal team invoked the Stalking Punishment Act, arguing that Kim Se Ui’s actions have escalated beyond mere defamation into a persistent pattern of cyber harassment.
The lawsuit highlights that since March 10, 2025, Kim Se Ui has been holding nearly daily livestreams, in which he repeatedly makes false and damaging claims about Kim Soo Hyun’s alleged relationship with Kim Sae Ron when she was a minor. The complaint further alleges that Garosero has been spreading falsehoods, sharing private photos and videos of the actor, and exposing his personal messages without consent.
Kim Soo Hyun’s legal team emphasized that this continuous and targeted harassment constitutes stalking and “cyber wrecking,” which necessitated the filing of additional charges against Kim Se Ui. The main aim of the new lawsuit is to halt Garosero’s ongoing attacks on the actor’s reputation and character.
This legal action is not the first time Kim Soo Hyun and GOLDMEDALIST have pursued litigation against Garosero. Previously, they sued Kim Se Ui under the Act on Special Cases Concerning the Punishment of Sexual Crimes, accusing him of spreading defamatory and obscene content about the actor.
The ongoing legal conflict between the two sides has intensified, with Garosero continuing to release damaging accusations against Kim Soo Hyun despite the active lawsuits. The case has ignited significant debate online, with public opinion remaining divided on the matter.
As multiple lawsuits progress, the Seoul Central District Court will be tasked with reviewing these complex cases. GOLDMEDALIST has made it clear they will persist in taking strong legal action to protect Kim Soo Hyun’s reputation and privacy.
