Indian cricketer KL Rahul has added another feather to his cap during IPL 2025, becoming the fastest Indian to score 8000 T20 runs. The record-breaking moment came in match 60 between Delhi Capitals and Gujarat Titans at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on May 18.
Rahul opened the innings for DC alongside Faf du Plessis and reached his half-century in the 9th over. He reached the 8000-run mark in just 224 T20 innings, overtaking Virat Kohli, who previously held the record with 243 innings.
KL Rahul surpasses Virat Kohli
With this milestone, KL Rahul has now officially surpassed Virat Kohli as the fastest Indian to reach 8000 runs in T20s. Kohli, however, remains far ahead in overall T20 stats, with 13,391 runs in 393 innings and is also the highest run-scorer in IPL history.
