Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) claimed a dominant victory in the Indian Premier League (IPL) match held on Thursday. They defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by 80 runs, marking their second win of the season.
Sunrisers Hyderabad Struggle in Run Chase
Chasing a target of 201 runs, Sunrisers Hyderabad were bowled out for 120 runs in just 16.4 overs. Heinrich Klaasen was the top scorer for SRH with 33 runs, while Kamindu Mendis contributed 27 runs. Nitish Kumar Reddy added 19 runs to the total.
Outstanding Bowling Performance by KKR
KKR’s bowlers delivered an exceptional performance. Varun Chakravarthy took 3 wickets, conceding only 22 runs in his 4 overs. Vaibhav Arora also picked up 3 wickets, giving away 29 runs in his 4-over spell. Andre Russell took 2 wickets, while Sunil Narine and Harshit Rana claimed 1 wicket each.
Kolkata’s Strong Batting Display
Batting first after losing the toss, Kolkata Knight Riders posted a competitive total of 200 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in 20 overs. Venkatesh Iyer played a brilliant knock of 60 runs, while Angkrish Raghuvanshi impressed with a solid 50 runs.
KKR’s dominant performance in both batting and bowling helped them secure a comfortable victory, strengthening their position in the IPL points table.
