Konami has announced a major update 4.4.0 for eFootball, which will go live on April 17, 2025. The announcement came during a special live event called eFootball Connect, where the developers shared their plans to rebuild stronger communication with the game’s community.
Three Main Focus Areas in the Update
The new version focuses on three key parts of the game:
- Gameplay improvements
- Player development system
- Useful new features and tools
Konami aims to make the game more engaging and user-friendly for both casual and hardcore players.
Cross-Play and Matchmaking Improvements
One of the most exciting changes is the addition of cross-play, letting players compete across different platforms. Matchmaking will also be smoother and faster, helping players find matches quickly and fairly.
Smart Assistant for Everyone
The Smart Assistant, previously limited to certain modes, will now be available in all game modes, including the eFootball League. This tool helps guide players during matches, making the game easier for beginners and more strategic for experienced users.
Expanded Player Backup System
The player backup feature is getting a major upgrade. Until now, players could store up to 900 footballers in their collection. This limit is being increased to 1,400, although extra slots will require GP Points to unlock.
New Advanced Coaching Program
A new feature called the Advanced Coaching Program will let users improve player skills beyond the normal limits. You can boost skills like passing, shooting, and dribbling. Players can even delete one skill to make room for another, giving users more control over how they shape their team.
AI and Gameplay Tweaks Based on Feedback
During a Q&A session, Konami’s team answered player questions about core gameplay issues. They confirmed that attacking and passing systems have been fine-tuned, and the AI of rival players has been adjusted for smarter play.
Better Network Information During PvP Matches
To fix the lag problems in online matches, Konami is adding an antenna icon next to player names showing the connection strength. After the match, a latency graph will be displayed. Konami has also released a list of servers, helping players connect to the best one based on location and internet speed.
Update 4.4.0 Arrives on April 17
The new version will be available after scheduled maintenance on April 17. Players can expect smoother gameplay, better tools, and more control over their squads.
