Born on July 10, 1942, in Kankipadu, Kota Srinivasa Rao developed an interest in theatre from a young age. Before entering films, he worked as an employee at the State Bank of India. His film journey began in 1978 with the movie Pranam Khareedu, directed by Kranti Kumar. Kota gained recognition as a villain with the film Pratighatana and firmly established himself as a versatile actor with Aha Naa Pellanta.

Kota acted alongside actor Babu Mohan in nearly 60 films, forming a popular comedic duo loved by audiences.
