Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella and X (formerly Twitter) owner Elon Musk had a disagreement.
The issue started when Musk commented on the financial management of the ambitious Stargate AI infrastructure project in the U.S. In response, Nadella firmly defended his position in an interview with CNBC.
When asked about Musk’s claims regarding fund management, Nadella said, “I know I can manage my $80 billion well.” The Stargate project is expected to cost $500 billion, but Musk argued that the involved companies don’t have enough funds. The project includes OpenAI, Oracle, Microsoft, and SoftBank, aiming to develop AI infrastructure in the U.S. over the next four years, creating millions of jobs.
However, Musk questioned the entire project, claiming that SoftBank had only managed to secure less than $10 billion so far.
Musk vs. Sam Altman
OpenAI CEO Sam Altman also dismissed Musk’s accusations, calling them completely false. He advised Musk to prioritize the country’s interests over personal concerns, but Musk didn’t take it well. Musk replied, “What’s good for your company may not be what’s best for the country. I hope you put America first in your new role.”
Musk vs. Satya Nadella
Later, Musk shared a video clip of Nadella’s interview, saying that Nadella at least has enough money. In response, Nadella stated that the funds are not just for hyping AI but for creating something truly beneficial for the world.
