Lee Si Young Reveals Pregnancy Using Embryo from Ex-Husband After Divorce

Actress Lee Si Young has announced that she is expecting her second child—this time, through a frozen embryo created with her ex-husband five years ago.

On July 8th KST, Lee shared the surprising news via Instagram, stating that she made the decision to proceed with the embryo implantation independently, without her ex-husband’s consent.

Lee and her ex-husband, a businessman identified only as “A,” originally underwent artificial fertilization during their marriage and had embryos frozen with hopes of having a second child. However, the couple divorced earlier this year, officially parting ways in March following irreconcilable differences.

In her heartfelt post, Lee wrote,

“As our relationship was ending, the embryo’s storage time was also running out. I couldn’t bring myself to discard it. So I made the decision alone.”

Though “A” initially disagreed with her choice, he acknowledged the situation in a public statement, saying:

“She decided to become pregnant without my agreement. But now that there’s going to be a second child, I’ll do my best as a father.”

He also emphasized that they have stayed in touch to co-parent their first child, Jung Yoon, and plan to do the same for the new baby.

Lee expressed her resolve in her post, adding:

“This decision may bring difficulties, but I believe it’s meaningful and worth it.”

Lee Si Young, who married in September 2017, continues to receive strong support from fans for her courage and openness in sharing her journey into motherhood—once again, on her own terms.
