In Makalu Rural Municipality-3, Kalopatal, Sankhuwasabha, 17 buffaloes died due to lightning and strong winds.
The buffaloes, owned by locals Pushpalal Bhandari and Prem Prasad Bhandari, were struck by lightning on Sunday.
According to Police Inspector Ram Kumar Lamichhane of the District Police Office, the incident site is about 35 kilometers away from the nearest police post at Heudangna. Due to the remote location, a police team was sent to the site early Monday morning, but it will take at least six hours for them to reach the area.
