Liverpool were held to a 2-2 draw by Aston Villa in the English Premier League on Wednesday. With this result, Liverpool have extended their lead at the top of the league table to eight points.
Since losing to Nottingham at Anfield in September, Liverpool have remained unbeaten in the league. However, their performance against Villa was not outstanding, and now Arsenal have the opportunity to close the gap at the top.
Liverpool currently sit at the top with 61 points from 26 games, while Arsenal, who have played one game less, have 53 points.
In the match at Villa Park, Arsenal took the lead in the 29th minute through a goal from Mohamed Salah.
Villa then responded with two goals, scored by Youri Tielemans and Ollie Watkins. The game was leveled in the 61st minute when Trent Alexander-Arnold scored the equalizer for Liverpool.
