Logan Paul, the YouTube star who transitioned into professional wrestling, has fired back at football icon Lionel Messi, challenging him to a fight following accusations that Messi copied his energy drink brand. The two have become embroiled in a legal battle after Messi launched his Mas+ energy drink, which Paul claims is a direct imitation of Prime, the drink brand he co-owns with KSI.
Paul recently expressed his frustration over Messi’s entry into the energy drink market, claiming that Messi’s Mas+ drink looks “identical” to Prime. In an attempt to defend his brand, Paul and KSI filed a countersuit against Messi’s company after Messi’s distributor sued Prime in October 2024 for anti-competitive practices. Paul’s legal team argues that the design of Mas+ infringes on Prime’s intellectual property.
In a recent video, Paul declared, “You guys copied us, and everybody saw it. Your drinks look exactly like Prime, identical, and then you sued us, that’s not fair. That’s why we countersued, obviously we were going to. If you can’t beat the best, you have to be the best, but that’s illegal, that’s our design, and we’re defending ourselves.”
Paul, known for his bold personality, then issued a surprising challenge to Messi: “I swear I would consider dropping the lawsuit, only if… a Logan Paul vs Messi fight takes place. See you in the ring, bro.”
While Messi focuses on his entrepreneurial ventures, including his desire to play in the 2026 World Cup, the legal drama with Paul continues to heat up. Messi’s involvement in the energy drink market has raised eyebrows, particularly as he transitions into a new phase of his career in the MLS with Inter Miami.
With the case still ongoing, both figures are set to make headlines in the coming months, whether in the courtroom or the wrestling ring.
