Actor Wilson Vikram Rai has joined the cast of the upcoming film Magne Raja, where comedian Kedar Ghimire will play the lead role. The two have officially signed on after the producers confirmed Rai’s involvement, ensuring an exciting on-screen collaboration between the two comedic talents. This marks their first film together in almost a decade, after their previous collaboration in Ram Kahani.
Rai gained significant recognition in Meri Bassai, where his character was famously named “Takme Buda,” a title that was given to him by Kedar Ghimire. Over the years, Wilson has looked up to Kedar as a mentor, and both are now eager to reunite on screen.
A Decade-Long Wait for a Film Reunion, Magne Raja
In the new film, Kedar expressed his excitement about the long-awaited collaboration, saying, “We’ve been looking forward to working together again for a long time. Despite our efforts, we couldn’t make it happen earlier. Now, Magne Raja offers roles that suit both of us, and we’re committed to making the most of this partnership.”
Wilson, equally excited, reflected on their shared history, recalling how they had worked together in numerous stage shows both in Nepal and abroad, but never much in films. “Now that we’re finally working together in a movie, it feels like a long-held wish has been fulfilled. We’re sure that the audience will enjoy the same comedy and chemistry between us that they’ve seen in the past,” he said.
Directed by Rishi Lamichhane, Magne Raja also stars Barsha Sivakoti, Shishir Wangle, Sharada Giri, Puskar Gurung, and others. The film is produced by Munal Ghimire under Aarambha Productions, with cinematography by Narendra Mainali and the screenplay written by Samip Raj Timalsena. Filming is set to begin on Shivaratri.
