Mahabir Pun recently opened an official YouTube channel titled ‘Mahabir Pun Official.’ However, within hours, more than 20 fake channels using the same name appeared. This has caused confusion and concern for the renowned innovator. In response, he has urged people to be cautious and avoid falling for these fake channels.
Mahabir Pun’s Social Media Post
On Wednesday, Mahabir Pun shared his experience on Facebook, saying, “This is a small example of how some Nepalis are engaging in unethical practices due to the lack of job opportunities and the need to earn money.” He further requested the public not to be misled by fake channels that are uploading videos under his name.
Official Channel and Its Purpose
Pun had launched the official ‘Mahabir Pun Official’ YouTube channel on Monday. As of now, the channel has over 15,000 subscribers. Mahabir Pun plans to share educational and entertaining content on the channel, aiming to engage and inspire viewers.
Revenue from the Channel
Pun also mentioned that the revenue generated from his YouTube channel would be used for important purposes. He explained, “I need separate financial resources to fulfill the responsibilities I have, so I opened the YouTube channel to generate income for this cause.”
Past Contributions
Earlier, Mahabir Pun used the proceeds from his autobiography ‘Smṛti, Sapana, ra Aviral Yatra’ to fund the repair work of the Birgunj Agricultural Tools Factory. To date, over 180,000 copies of his book have been sold.
