Mahesh Babu Served Legal Notice Over Real Estate Scam Involving ₹34.8 Lakh

Tollywood superstar Mahesh Babu has landed in legal trouble again, this time for endorsing a real estate company now accused of fraud. The Ranga Reddy District Consumer Commission in Telangana has issued a notice to the actor over his past promotion of Sai Surya Developers.

As per a Deccan Chronicle report, a Hyderabad-based doctor has filed a complaint stating that she paid ₹34.8 lakh for plots that never existed. Mahesh Babu has been named as the third respondent in the case, with allegations that his endorsement misled potential buyers.

The actor and his team have not yet responded to the legal notice.

Back in April, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) also questioned Mahesh Babu in connection with a money laundering investigation involving the same real estate company and the Surana Group. Sai Surya Developers’ owner, Kancharla Satish Chandra Gupta, is already under a police probe for failing to deliver on a housing project called Green Meadows.

Mahesh Babu was the brand ambassador for the project and was reportedly paid ₹5.9 crore for his endorsement through both cash and cheques. However, sources have clarified that the actor is not considered an accused and may not have been aware of the fraud.

Recent Projects
On the work front, Mahesh Babu was last seen in Guntur Kaaram (2023), directed by Trivikram Srinivas. He is currently filming SSMB 29, an upcoming jungle adventure helmed by SS Rajamouli. The movie also stars Priyanka Chopra and Prithviraj Sukumaran and is written by Baahubali writer Vijayendra Prasad.
