Director Mahesh Jirawala, who disappeared after the Air India plane crash that killed people in Ahmedabad last week, is now officially confirmed dead. The police on Saturday, June 21, 2025 reported that DNA samples from bodies recovered at the crash site matched Jirawala’s samples, validating the worst fears of his friends and relatives.
Caught in the Wrong Place at the Wrong Time
The 34-year-old was not one of the passengers on the doomed flight. He was reportedly riding by the place on his two-wheeler when the London-bound plane crashed seconds after it took off from Ahmedabad’s international airport. The plane had come crashing into a hostel complex in Meghaninagar, killing dozens and injuring a few others.
Final Rites and Family Grief
The body of Jirawala has since been handed over to his family by authorities. The heartbreaking confirmation brought an end to seven days of searching and growing hopelessness for his vanishing.
