Police have arrested 36-year-old Samay Gautam, a resident of Nagarjun Municipality-8, Kathmandu, for allegedly scamming people with promises of high-paying jobs in Lithuania.
According to complaints filed by three victims, Gautam took a total of NPR 1.1 million from them, claiming he would send them to Lithuania for work. He then disappeared, cutting off all contact.
Based on these complaints, a team from the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office, Teku, arrested Gautam from Kathmandu Metropolitan City-15.
He has been sent to the Foreign Employment Department in Tahachal, Kathmandu, for further investigation and legal action.
