A man has been arrested in Kathmandu for allegedly scamming someone out of NPR 7.5 million by promising to send them to the United States for a high-paying job. The suspect, Ranjan Pandey (30), originally from Vyas Municipality-12, Tanahun, and currently living in Chandragiri Municipality-7, had taken the money from the victim and then disappeared. He was arrested on Sunday from Kathmandu Metropolitan City-4 by a team from the Valley Crime Investigation Office, Teku, following the victim’s complaint. Pandey has now been handed over to the Kathmandu District Police Office for further investigation and legal action.
