Police in Salyan have arrested a man for allegedly trying to rape a 15-year-old girl.
The 51-year-old man was arrested in the Darma Rural Municipality of the district. Police said they arrested him after receiving a complaint stating that he tried to rape the girl on Friday night.
According to Police Inspector Baburam Basnet, who is the information officer for the Salyan District Police Office, the arrested man is being held in custody, and an investigation is underway.
Basnet said that because Sunday is a public holiday, the man would be taken to court on Monday.
