A Mississippi man has been charged with felony stalking and vandalism after he allegedly rammed his vehicle into the gates of actress Jennifer Aniston’s Bel Air mansion, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.
The incident took place around midday on Monday when 48-year-old Jimmy Wayne Carwyle reportedly drove into the entrance of Aniston’s $21 million Los Angeles residence. Authorities confirmed that Carwyle had been persistently harassing the Friends star for over a year through repeated emails, voicemails, and social media messages, beginning in March 2023 and continuing up until May 5, 2025.
District Attorney Nathan Hotchman addressed the case, emphasizing the seriousness of stalking-related offenses: “Stalking is a crime that can quickly escalate from harassment to dangerous, violent actions, threatening the safety of victims and our communities. My office is committed to aggressively prosecuting those who stalk and terrorize others.”
Carwyle is currently in custody with bail set at $150,000. He is scheduled to appear in court on May 8. If convicted, he faces up to three years in prison.
News of the incident quickly spread online, sparking outrage and concern among fans. “What took them so long to arrest him?” questioned one user. Another commented, “People have lost their minds,” while others expressed relief that Aniston was safe.
