A young man has died due to a beating by his father and elder sister in Palpa.
According to the police, the deceased has been identified as 39-year-old Yagya Bahadur Kumal from Pokharathok, Baganaskali Rural Municipality-2.
On Falgun 15, a dispute broke out among the three family members over a household matter. During the altercation, 63-year-old father Sher Bahadur and 45-year-old sister Devi Kumal assaulted Yagya Bahadur, the police reported.
Yagya Bahadur, who fell unconscious due to the beating, was taken to Mission Hospital in Tansen by his wife for treatment. However, doctors at the hospital declared him dead, according to Sunil Mall, the information officer at the District Police Office, Palpa.
The police have taken the father and sister into custody for further investigation.
