A tragic turn of events occurred in Pokhara as the body of a man who went missing while swimming in Begnas Lake has been recovered. The incident happened on the evening of Jestha 25 at Majhikuna, Pokhara Metropolitan City-31.
The victim has been identified as 43-year-old Rajesh Shrestha from Manakamana, Shahid Lakhan Rural Municipality-3 in Gorkha district. He had disappeared while swimming, prompting an immediate search operation.
Following the report, a team of seven divers from Armed Police Force No. 24 Kalika Battalion, led by an inspector, was deployed for rescue efforts.
According to APF spokesperson DSP Shailendra Thapa, Shrestha’s body was found on Monday morning at a depth of about 35 feet in the lake.
