United suffered a setback in the 43rd minute as Patrick Dorgu was shown a red card for a reckless foul, reducing them to 10 men.
Despite being a man down, United showed resilience in the second half. They regained the lead just two minutes after the restart when Harry Maguire headed home a corner from Bruno Fernandes in the 47th minute. That goal proved to be the match-winner as no further goals were scored, and United secured a hard-fought victory.
With this result, Manchester United now sits in 14th place with 33 points from 27 matches. Ipswich Town remains in the relegation zone with 17 points. Despite playing with 10 men for a significant portion of the match, United showcased determination and composure to earn an important win, while Ipswich will need to bounce back quickly as they continue their battle to avoid relegation.
