Manchester United defeated Romanian club FCSB 2-0 on Thursday to secure a place in the Round of 16 of the Europa League. Another English Premier League club, Tottenham, also advanced to the top eight.
United secured victory in the match held in Budapest with goals from Diogo Dalot and Kobbie Mainoo. In North London, under-pressure Tottenham defeated Sweden’s Elfsborg 3-0.
Dane Scarlett, Damola Ajayi, and Mike Moore scored for Tottenham. At the end of the group stage of Europe’s second-biggest club football competition, Lazio topped the table with 19 points, while Athletic Bilbao finished second with the same points.
Following them, United, Tottenham, Eintracht Frankfurt, Lyon, Olympiacos, and Rangers completed the top eight.
