After the massive success of Deadpool & Wolverine in 2024, Marvel Studios is ready to dominate the box office once again with Captain America: Brave New World.
Directed by Julius Onah, known for The Cloverfield Paradox (2018) and Luce (2019), the upcoming superhero film recently held its world premiere. Early reactions from those who attended have been overwhelmingly positive, with many calling it a “total blast.”
Despite having slightly less hype than some past Marvel films—especially Deadpool & Wolverine—Captain America: Brave New World is still expected to have a strong opening weekend. According to Deadline, the film is projected to make around $80 million domestically in its first three days. With the added boost from Presidents’ Day on the fourth day, that number could rise to $94 million.
On the global front, the film is set for a day-and-date release in China, pushing its worldwide box office debut to an expected $190 million. This would make it the second-highest opening for a Captain America movie, trailing only Captain America: Civil War, which was practically an Avengers-level event.
