Tyler Herro scored 30 points, and Alec Burks added 20 as the Miami Heat easily defeated the Philadelphia 76ers 118-95 on Saturday. This was the first game of Miami’s three-game road trip and their fourth straight win.
The Heat’s excellent long-range shooting made a big difference, hitting 20 of 43 three-pointers. Burks knocked down six threes, Herro made five, and Haywood Highsmith added three from deep, finishing with 13 points.
Kel’el Ware had an impressive performance, making all six of his shots for 13 points and grabbing 14 rebounds.
Philadelphia struggled once again, losing their seventh game in a row. Jared Butler led the 76ers with 19 points and 10 assists, while Justin Edwards scored 17. Adem Bona contributed 16 points and 10 rebounds.
Herro started strong, scoring 10 points in the first quarter as Miami took a 34-29 lead. He kept up the momentum in the second quarter, helping the Heat push their lead to double digits.
The Sixers closed the gap to 54-52 late in the second quarter, but Miami finished the half strong, leading 62-53 at the break.
The Heat took control in the third quarter, outscoring Philadelphia 34-22. Burks hit four three-pointers, and Bam Adebayo contributed to Miami’s dominance. Adebayo finished the game with 16 points.
With under five minutes left in the third, Miami led just 72-69, but they went on a 24-6 run to break the game open. Highsmith started the surge with a three-pointer, followed by two from Burks. Adebayo and Burks continued the hot shooting, pushing Miami’s lead to 93-75 by the end of the quarter.
Herro added more points in the fourth quarter, sealing the Heat’s dominant win as they cruised to victory.
