Mika Singh Slams Diljit Dosanjh Over 'Sardaar Ji 3' Release Featuring Pakistani Actress Hania Aamir

Popular singer Mika Singh has stirred controversy by criticizing fellow artist Diljit Dosanjh for releasing Sardaar Ji 3 overseas, especially during a sensitive time following the tragic Pahalgam terror attack on April 22. Without directly naming Diljit, Mika posted a not-so-subtle message on Instagram, calling him a “fake singer” and sharing a collage photo featuring both of them.

What Did Mika Singh Say?

In his Instagram story, Mika wrote, “Desh Pehle (Nation first). Guys, as we all know, the relationship between India and Pakistan isn’t going well right now. Yet some people continue to act irresponsibly.” He stressed that any project involving Pakistani artists should be reconsidered when the dignity of the nation is at stake.

He even referenced Abir Gulaal, a film starring Fawad Khan and Vaani Kapoor that couldn’t be released in India due to similar tensions, saying, “There was a film featuring Fawad Khan and Vaani Kapoor that many of us opposed, and yet, some still don’t seem to get the message.”

Mika further accused the unnamed singer—clearly referring to Diljit—of abandoning his Indian fans after holding several successful concerts in the country during his Dil-Luminati world tour. He claimed the artist “disappeared” after earning money from Indian audiences.

The Sardaar Ji 3 Controversy

The teaser of Sardaar Ji 3 was initially released in India, but it did not feature Hania Aamir, a popular Pakistani actress. Her role was only confirmed when the official trailer dropped on June 22. Since then, the trailer has been geo-blocked in India, reportedly due to the heightened India-Pakistan tensions and an industry-wide restriction on Pakistani talent.

Following these developments and the fallout from the Pahalgam attack—referred to as Operation Sindoor—the makers decided to skip the film’s Indian release altogether. Instead, Sardaar Ji 3 will release overseas on June 27.

No Response Yet From Diljit Dosanjh

As of now, Diljit Dosanjh has not responded publicly to Mika Singh’s comments or the surrounding controversy. The situation has sparked a wider debate on whether artists should prioritize national sentiments in their creative decisions, especially during politically sensitive times.
