The much-anticipated Nepali film ‘Mirmire’ has officially started its workshop sessions. The workshop kicked off on Sunday with the film’s main actors, Dayahang Rai and Prakash Saput, as the team gears up for the shooting phase.
Director Yam Sherpa focuses on smooth shooting
Director Yam Sherpa shared that the workshop’s goal is to create harmony between the actors and their characters, making the filming process smoother. “We want to ensure the story and characters flow naturally with the actors,” he said. He believes this preparation will help them complete shooting faster and more efficiently.
Filming to begin this Friday mostly in Kavre
Currently, the film team is preparing at the Kantipur Film Academy. The actual shooting is set to start this Friday, with most of the scenes planned to be filmed in Kavre, providing a beautiful local backdrop to the story.
First-time pairing of Dayahang Rai and Prakash Saput
The film is notable for bringing together two beloved actors, Dayahang Rai and Prakash Saput, for the very first time. Meanwhile, director Yam Sherpa and Dayahang Rai are collaborating for the second time, having previously worked together on Yam’s first film, ‘Karsang’.
Strong supporting cast and talented crew
In addition to the lead actors, the movie stars Sirjana Ninglekhu and Maotse Gurung in important roles. Director Yam Sherpa is also the story writer but has chosen to keep the plot details a secret for now.
The production team includes Nimu Sherpa, Chhongba Lama Sherpa, and Ang Tshering Sherpa as producers, with Govinda Bohara, Sudip Kunwar, and Ishwar Shrestha as co-producers. The executive producer is Rohit Kattel, a well-known film distributor and owner of RR Films.
Release expected in 2082 with date yet to be decided
‘Mirmire’ is scheduled for release in the Nepali year 2082, although the exact release date is still under wraps. The film will be distributed by RR Films, promising to be an exciting addition to Nepal’s cinema landscape.
