An Indian man who went missing while bathing in the Kaligandaki River at Ramdi Dham was found dead on Sunday, five days after he disappeared.
The victim, 25-year-old Shivam Pandey from Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, India, went missing while bathing in the river on Wednesday afternoon. His body was found about one kilometer downstream from Ramdi Ghat, according to the Palpa District Police Office.
Pandey was visiting Pokhara and was on his way home with three friends when they stopped to bathe in the river. Unfortunately, he drowned and went missing.
Residents say that many people unfamiliar with the area’s geography drown while swimming. The strong currents and whirlpools in the river pose a danger to those who are not cautious, warned resident Lekhnath Neupane.
