Mother Dies, Son Injured After Being Hit by a Tipper in Tanahun

A woman died, and two others were injured after being hit by a tipper in Malebagar, Shuklagandaki Municipality-7, Tanahun.

The tipper, bearing the registration number Ga 1 K 5896, was heading from Khairenitar to Damauli when it collided with a car (Pra.3 01-022 Cha 6778) and a scooter (Ga 18 Pa 7752) coming from the opposite direction.

According to the police, 41-year-old Apsara Chhetri, a resident of Pokhara Metropolitan City-32, Kaski, who was riding the scooter, lost her life in the accident.

She was critically injured and taken to the GP Koirala National Respiratory Treatment Center, Belchautara, where doctors pronounced her dead, informed Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Ashok Thapa of the District Police Office, Tanahun.

The scooter rider, 21-year-old Dipesh Chhetri, son of the deceased, sustained minor injuries.

Similarly, the car driver, 31-year-old Mahesh Paudel of Shankhe, Shuklagandaki Municipality-11, suffered minor injuries on his right hand. He was discharged after treatment, according to the police.

The tipper driver, 40-year-old Prakash Gurung of Bhullbhule, Nilkantha Municipality-2, Dhading, has been taken into police custody.
