A motorcyclist died, and another person was injured after a bus hit their motorcycle in Sunsari.
According to the Sunsari District Police Office, the accident occurred on Monday at Inaruwa Municipality-6 along the East-West Highway. A bus (license number Na 6 Kha 2931) traveling from Biratnagar to Birgunj collided with a motorcycle (Ko 25 Pa 3378) heading from Inaruwa to Dharan.
The motorcycle rider, 46-year-old Mahesh Kumar Mehta from Harinagar Rural Municipality-3, was seriously injured and later died. The passenger, 57-year-old Gugli Mehta from Dewanganj Rural Municipality-2, was injured.
Police have taken the bus driver, 34-year-old Suryanarayan Chaudhary from Lahan Municipality-15, Siraha, into custody for investigation.
